Faculty of Law Participates in Yarmouk University’s Conference on “Fifty Years of Jordanian Legislation”

The Faculty of Law at Applied Science Private University participated in the scientific conference organized by the Faculty of Law at Yarmouk University on 14–15 July 2026 under the theme:
The conference was held under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Bassam Talhouni, Minister of Justice, and brought together distinguished academics, researchers, and legal professionals from universities and legal institutions across Jordan. The event coincided with the fiftieth anniversary of the Jordanian Civil Code and the Golden Jubilee of Yarmouk University.
Representing the Faculty of Law at the conference were:
Dr. Wesam Al-Hobabseh, who presented a research paper entitled “From Object to Companion: Reimagining Civil Liability in the Age of Artificial Intelligence.” Her presentation examined the impact of artificial intelligence technologies on traditional principles of civil liability and explored legal approaches to adapting liability frameworks to emerging technological developments.
Mr. Mohammad Nasr Al-Din Khater, who presented a research paper entitled “Violations of the Right to One’s Image Through Artificial Intelligence Technologies and the Available Criminal Law Protections.” His paper addressed the legal challenges arising from AI-enabled infringements of image rights and assessed whether the criminal law protections provided under Jordanian legislation are adequate to address such violations.
