Stemming from Applied Science Private University’s firm belief in the importance of scientific research as a fundamental pillar for societal advancement and the development of academic capacities, the Deanship of Scientific Research and Graduate Studies was established by a decision of the Board of Trustees in January 1998, pursuant to the University’s Bylaw No. (1) of 1993 and the Private Universities Law No. (19) of 1989. Since its establishment, the Deanship has undertaken the mission of fostering a stimulating research environment that enables researchers and students to achieve creativity and innovation, thereby strengthening the University’s position locally, regionally, and internationally.
The Deanship has achieved tangible progress in increasing research output and publishing in peer-reviewed journals indexed in internationally recognized databases such as Scopus, SCIE, SSCI, SCI, and AHCI. This has positioned the University among the leading academic institutions nationally in terms of the number of publications indexed in the Scopus database. The Deanship has also aligned its strategic direction with labor market needs and international standards by supporting outstanding students in pursuing Master’s and Doctoral degrees at universities ranked among the top 500 worldwide according to QS, Shanghai, and TIMES rankings.
The University currently offers fifteen graduate programs in addition to a Higher Diploma program across various disciplines. Through ambitious plans, it seeks to develop joint academic programs in collaboration with prestigious international universities. The Deanship has adopted clear and
transparent regulations governing faculty promotions and has approved a system for granting sabbatical leave to support the implementation of joint research projects with leading global academic and research institutions.
Furthermore, the Deanship continues to support faculty participation in locally and internationally indexed conferences. It also oversees the publication of the Jordanian Journal of Applied Sciences, in both its Humanities and Natural Sciences series, providing publication opportunities for researchers from within and outside the University, in line with its mission to disseminate knowledge and enhance the University’s research leadership at both the regional and international levels.
The Deanship of Scientific Research and Graduate Studies at Applied Science Private University was established by a decision of the Board of Trustees in early January 1998, in accordance with Article (9/2) of the university’s internal regulations No. (1) of 1993, and based on the Private Universities Law No. (19) of 1989. This establishment reflects the university’s recognition of the significance of scientific research in enhancing the skills of faculty members, supporting researchers, and fostering academic productivity.
The deanship provides incentives for faculty members, which has contributed to advancing the university’s research achievements and increasing the number of publications in specialized scientific journals indexed in Scopus and Web of Science. As a result, Applied Science Private University has distinguished itself as the leading private Jordanian university in terms of research publications in Scopus.
