The Faculty of Sharia and Islamic Studies at Applied Science Private University became an independent faculty following the decision to transform the Department of Sharia and Islamic Studies, which had been affiliated with the Faculty of Arts and Humanities since 1991, into a separate faculty as of the academic year 2019/2020.
The Faculty of Sharia and Islamic Studies comprises two departments: the Department of Foundations of Fiqh and the Department of Quranic Recitations and Interpretation.
The Faculty is committed to ensuring that students acquire comprehensive knowledge across the major disciplines of Sharia, qualifying them to contribute effectively in both academic and professional fields.
The Faculty prepares its graduates for a wide range of career opportunities in Jordan and abroad, including teaching Islamic studies in schools and working in Awqaf, the General Iftaa Department, Sharia courts, Quranic and Islamic centers, and Islamic institutes locally and internationally.
The Faculty takes pride in the outstanding results achieved by its students in the University Proficiency Exam over the past years, with many securing top ranks among participants from various public and private universities.
Like students in other faculties, students of the Faculty of Sharia and Islamic Studies undergo structured field training in various areas, including teaching, leading prayers, delivering Khutbah, Sharia courts, Islamic banking, and other relevant fields.
The Faculty also includes a specialized laboratory dedicated to developing recitation skills, in addition to a Hadith verification course.
This facility was established in the academic year 2007/2008 to support group-based practical learning and recitation sessions for both male and female students
Praise be to Allah, and peace and blessings of Allah be upon Prophet Mohammad.
Thank you for visiting the Faculty of Sharia and Islamic Studies’ page. I ask Allah to grant you success and protection.
The Faculty of Sharia and Islamic Studies was launched under this title in the academic year 2019/2019. It used to be a department within the Faculty of Arts and Science.
We aspire to achieve two objectives: distinction in Sharia sciences and production of excellent graduates in terms of knowledge and behavior. We encourage research, consolidate the principles of middle way and promote virtue and Islamic manners.
We attempt to maintain continuing development, like planning to introduce an MA program and a Foundation of Faith BA as well as attracting more students interested in Sharia sciences.
Our students are keys to good wherever they go. They have also occupied advanced positions in the Proficiency Exam conducted by the Ministry of Higher Education for public and private universities, with 3 years coming first.
We are proud of our students, aspiring to serve our religion and country at all times. Be safe.
The Faculty aspires for excellence in performance and expansion in terms of quantity and quality. As it believes that perfection comes at the top of faith, it seeks to achieve the standards of quality in teaching, research and training.
The Faculty believes it has a great responsibility to serve and deliver the Islamic Da’wa in terms of creed, worship and manners on and off campus. It also assumes fortifying ASU students with Islamic values, initiating dialogue with the Other and combating extremism.
To this end, the Faculty is keen on attracting excellent students in a bid to accomplish distinguished outcomes.
