Responsibilities :

  • Enforcing the university's policies.
  • Endorsing strategies that provide the necessary infrastructure to fulfill university objectives.
  • Ratifying by-laws that regulate the organizational, financial, and operational aspects of the university.
  • Approving employment and disciplinary by-laws applicable to all university staff.
  • Sanctioning new academic curricula.
  • Awarding academic degrees.
  • Establishing criteria for student admissions and determining enrollment numbers in alignment with the Ministry of Higher Education's overarching strategies.
  • Guiding and supervising initiatives to create new faculties and academic programs.
  • Monitoring the execution of faculty teaching and research plans.
  • Sanctioning admissions policies.
  • Formulating policies related to the scale and caliber of student enrollment.
  • Requesting approval for new academic and non-academic entities.
  • Deciding on faculty promotions based on recommendations from the Appointment and Promotion Committee.
